OSCAR Subsidy now Available

Manaaki Whaanau Kids Care holds Level 3 Social Sector Accreditation, which means eligible families may be able to receive financial assistance through the OSCAR Childcare Subsidy from Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ).

​

The OSCAR Subsidy can help cover the cost of before-school, after-school, and holiday programme fees, making quality childcare more accessible for whaanau.

Applying for winz oscar subsidy

When applying for a WINZ OSCAR subsidy, please make contact with WINZ on their general help line: 📞0800 559 009

​

This will give them a date of first contact. From this date you have 20 days to submit get all supporting documentation to your local WINZ office along with your completed WINZ paperwork.

Supporting documents may include:

• Payslips

• Identification

• Birth Certificates

 

(If you are signed up for MyMSD you can log in and print the forms off online.)

‼️Important: All WINZ forms need to be manually signed, digitally signed forms will not be accepted.

How we can help you

If you are already registered with Work and Income (WINZ) and they have the required identification and birth certificate information for you and your tamariki, Manaaki Whaanau Kids Care can submit your initial OSCAR Subsidy application on your behalf.

 

what you'll need to do:

1. Complete all sections of the OSCAR Subsidy Application Form.

2. Return the completed form to a Manaaki Whaanau Kids Care team member.

3. Alternatively, email the form directly to info@manaakiwhaanau.co.nz.

 

Once we receive your form, our team will complete the Supervisor's section and submit the application directly to WINZ for processing.

 

already submitted your application?

If you have already sent a new application to WINZ yourself, please contact Manaaki Whaanau Kids Care and provide:

• The date your application was submitted or received by WINZ.

• Your WINZ Client Number.

 

We can then complete and submit the Supervisor's section separately, helping to avoid any unnecessary delays.

Ongoing winz forms

At Manaaki Whaanau Kids Care, we're here to help make the WINZ subsidy process as simple as possible for whaanau.

​

Any WINZ change of circumstances, declarations, renewals, or verification forms can be processed through Manaaki Whaanau Kids Care. Once you have completed and signed the required forms, our team can forward them directly to the WINZ processing centre on your behalf, unless you request that the forms be returned to you.

 

holiday care declarations

Before each school holiday period, WINZ may send you a declaration form to complete.

• If you require Holiday Programme Care, please return your completed declaration form along with your holiday programme booking.

• If you do not require Holiday Programme Care, the declaration form must still be completed and returned promptly to ensure your OSCAR Subsidy continues without interruption for the following school term.

payments while applications are being processed

From time to time, WINZ may experience delays in processing applications and subsidy payments.

Until your OSCAR Subsidy has been approved and payments have been received:

• Weekly payments, or an agreed payment arrangement, are required to keep your account up to date.

 

Once your subsidy has been confirmed, we will advise you of:

• Your approved subsidy amount.

• Any remaining fees payable each week.

• Any adjustments made to your account following WINZ payments.
